Tell us the story of your business/nonprofit and how it’s evolved.
In 2017 I started coaching at Fit Body Boot Camp in Blacksburg, Virginia. I always had a passion for fitness, but my passion for helping people evolved quickly after starting the coaching process. For 5 years, I dove head first into mastering the fundamentals of coaching, the product of FBBC, and studying our demographic continuing to further my education on how to better and more effectively change our client’s lives.
In return, this coaching lifestyle changed my life for the better. I wanted everyone to experience the benefit of how Fit Body can improve not only your physical health but mental and emotional health as well. I knew that if I wanted to create a greater impact, my next step was to open my own location.
In the middle of this journey in Southwest VA, I met my soon-to-be husband, Danny. His family is from Chantilly and ultimately, I was ready for a change from the college town and ended up moving in the fall of 2020. We all know what follows in the year 2021 and after experiencing isolation, and seeing our community’s declining health, we decided it was time to create another opportunity for the Loudoun County Community to get healthy!
We ended up signing with the Fit Body Boot Camp Brand in March of 2022 and our doors officially opened on October 3rd, 2022! We are grateful and proud to be serving our community!
What are you most proud of when it comes to your team?
When it comes to my team, I am most proud of the way that they have selflessly committed their lives to helping others. For some it’s a chosen career path, for others it’s a chosen passion part-time position, but our team proves day after day that they are committed to our client’s success. Coaching is not only a physically demanding role but emotionally as well. Our team embodies our mission, inspires fitness, and changes lives every day, wholeheartedly. They listen with open ears, they laugh with you, they make you smile, and they truly make Fit Body Boot Camp the best 30 minutes of your day.
In what ways do you give back to the Loudoun community?
Over the past 2 years, our community has: donated over 5,000 pounds of non-perishable items to Loudoun Hunger Relief. Donated more than $1200 to support breast cancer awareness through the Step Sisters Organization. Donated over 175 toys for children to open gifts on Christmas morning to the Head Start program. Recently ran a fundraiser through Ashburn Fit Body and donated over $1,600 to a local elementary school, Madison’s Trust Elementary.
What would it mean to you and your business to win a Small Business Award?
Winning this award would be a great accolade to our team and the great impact they have made not only in Ashburn but in Loudoun County. It would open doors to new opportunities within the community for growth and collaboration!
Who is the one person that has influenced you the most in your career?
Mary Katherine Stahl, the previous owner of Blacksburg Fit Body Boot Camp. She was my first boss and saw potential in a soon-to-be college graduate who had a passion for fitness. She is a complete powerhouse! As she unlocks new levels in her own career, she inspires me very frequently to silence any negative distractions that prevent me from being the greatest version of myself. Professionally and personally!
What did you want to be when you grew up as a child?
Growing up I wanted to be a Veterinarian! I have so much love for animals and am grateful to have a gym pup by my side, now! His name is Loki and he is a Golden Retriever!
If you’re not in the office, where can we find you/what is another passion you have?
I’ll paint a picture of the definition of the best day for me! Wake up, go crush a 30-minute boot camp session at FBBC, come back and grab Loki and Danny, pick up a coffee at Blend or South Riding Coffee, and head to a local farmer’s market with the crisp fall air! Would’t be upset with finishing off the day at our favorite winery, Stone Tower!
How do you see your business evolving in the next 5 years?
In the next 5 years, our business will continue to prioritize growth by deepening our impact within the community! We plan to create a strong sense of belonging by fostering an inclusive environment where people of all fitness levels feel supported and motivated.
We’ll expand our community outreach efforts through local events, wellness workshops, and partnerships with local businesses, reinforcing our commitment to health and well-being beyond just workouts. Additionally, we aim to increase our social impact by offering programs that promote mental health benefits, stress relief, and holistic wellness.
Through these efforts, we will continue building a fitness community that not only focuses on physical transformations but also empowers people to lead healthier, happier lives while making a positive difference in their community!
