West Side Stories indie bookstore is excited to announce our participation in the 12th Anniversary of Independent Bookstore Day!
We’re celebrating indie bookstores all day with children’s storytimes, raffles for avid readers, a Golden Ticket scavenger hunt from libro.fm, poetry readings, limited edition exclusive Indie Bookstore Day hats and totes, henna tattoos, and lots of #yumminess from our Harmony Bakeshop & Coffeehouse!
“There’s no better way to express our gratitude to our small town, big heart community for your support over the past year than to welcome y’all into the cozy space we’ve been curating over the past year to celebrate our one-year anniversary and Indie Bookstore Day! We’re bringing everyone together with fun activities for all ages, giveaways from our adult as well as young adult fiction and non-fiction collections, a chance to win an Indie Bookstore Day tote bag filled with exclusive merch, and 10% off all in-stock books to show our thanks!”
Independent Bookstore Day (Indie Bookstore Day) was established in 2013 to promote, celebrate, and highlight the value of the Independent bookstore community. The day has been observed on the last Saturday of April every year since 2013. This year there are over 1,200 stores participating across the country.
Independent Bookstore Day is organized by the American Booksellers Association, a national not-for-profit trade organization, that works with booksellers and industry partners to ensure the success and profitability of independently owned book retailers, and to assist in expanding the community of the book.
Founded in 2024, West Side Stories indie bookstore strives to serve our community by being a place of harmony and peace fostered by the power of reading, writing, and hearing each other’s stories.
