Ambassador Council Spotlight: Kim Ruiz

Thank you to Kim Ruiz of Fambuili Insurance Services for your commitment to the Ambassador Council!

What inspired you to become a Loudoun Chamber Ambassador Council Member?

I love being a go-to resource for the members of the Chamber.  It brings me a lot of joy to be able to celebrate members’ wins and to introduce two people together knowing that they are going to hit it off and help each other’s business grow.

How does your business contribute to the local Loudoun community?

We protect the members’ families and businesses with insurance.  We also love to promote member’s businesses using our social media presence and participate in their events around the county.

What is one memorable connection or experience you’ve had through the Chamber?

Oh, there are so many.  Recently, I had the pleasure of attending the Up! Adventure Park’s Ribbon Cutting ceremony.  I ended up getting the times mixed up and arrived 30 minutes early. I was able to chat with the folks there and learn more about their mission and who they are.  Usually, the public never gets to see the struggles or appreciate all that goes into such a huge project.  I stopped by the next day with my son for their soft launch and they were so thankful that we came back.  I will also never forget all of us Ambassadors climbing onto the webbing and sliding with Allison down the big slides.

What advice would you give to someone looking to grow their network in Loudoun County?

Come to as many events and meetings as you can!  Join a Leadshare!  Make sure you follow up with connections that are made at the events and meet with people one-on-one to learn more about their businesses too.

How has being an Ambassador helped you grow personally or professionally?

Being an Ambassador has given me opportunities to meet people that I wouldn’t have been able to meet otherwise.  I have met some truly amazing people.  I also get to learn about all types of businesses during the Ribbon Cuttings.

What is one event or program hosted by the Loudoun Chamber that you never miss and why?

The Chamber Breakfasts.  Although they can seem overwhelming at first since they are so well attended, it gets easier over time.  When I go monthly, the smaller the room appears to be and I have even more friends I can’t wait to see every month.
