Christina Morelli is our Behind the Business Spotlight of the week! Thanks Christina for taking the time to answer some questions!

1.  Tell us a little bit about your business.

Downs & Associates, Inc in Herndon, VA is a full service insurance brokerage.  I specialize in property & casualty insurance, including personal home, auto, umbrella insurance, commercial insurance, as well as life insurance.   At Downs & Associates we represent over 200 insurance company, allowing me to provide my personal and commercial clients with the best product for their particular needs.  My objective is to strategically assist clients in managing and rounding their portfolio of business and personal insurance while helping them to contain costs & protect their assets from disaster. 

2. As a Leesburg transplant, what is your experience as a young professional in Loudoun County?

I originally become involved with the Chamber Young Professionals when I moved to the area as a way to network with other professionals, many of whom are starting new, young businesses.   My experience with the Loudoun YPs became much more than just networking.  Over the past 2 year many of the individuals I met early on at the Networking Socials have become close friends of mine outside of just “shop talk”.   Meeting this group of like-minded, motivated, young adults helped me to jump start my experience in Loudoun County.

3.  What are you involved with at the Chamber?

In addition to my involved in on the YP Committee, I am a member of the Ashkickers, the best Chamber Leadshare group!  You can also find me at some of the After Hours Mixers.

4.  Where do you hope to expand your business and personal growth in the next two years?

I am very focused on expanding my client base….everyone is prospective client for me, so I’ll continue to be out meeting new people in Loudoun County.  I am also looking forward to continued leadership opportunities with the YP Committee which gives me an opportunity to give back while developing a different set of professional skills. 

5.  What is your favorite experiences so far as an involved member at the Chamber and in your community?

Some of my favorite moments with the Chamber are attending the award ceremonies.   It is very inspiring to see business owners who have worked hard to develop the businesses & give back to the community be rewarded for their professional accomplishments.   

6.  What is your favorite thing to do on the weekends in Loudoun?

I love exploring local wineries!

7.  What is your favorite app?

My favorite app I only started using a couple days ago actually, but I wish I had know about it for years!……It’s called Mint.  It links all your bank account and credit cards together, creates and manages your personal budget with very little work to you.   You have to try it!!
