Franchise Fit: Evaluating franchises as a path to business ownership (SBDC)

Is a Franchise Right for You?

Have you dreamed of owning your own business? A way to leave the corporate world behind to work for yourself? You like the idea of a challenging life running your own company, but maybe you don’t want to start completely from scratch.

Going out on your own with an untried idea is a bit intimidating. You’d like to find a path that has already been shown to work, that you can get moving more quickly. It’s an opportunity for you to take charge of your journey. To work towards financial independence, without the uncertainty of a startup from scratch.

In this informative session you will learn how buying into an existing franchise could be just the ticket. Our guest speaker, Heather Rosen, is the President of FranNet of Virginia, a leading franchise advisory and development services firm. As an attorney who worked with small businesses for years she brings a unique perspective to the discussion and has been helping people search for their franchise fit since 2009.

Heather will lead a conversation about how franchises work, the best way to find one that’s a fit for your situation, and how to avoid some common pitfalls that can trip you up. You’ll learn more about the life cycle of a franchise and how to be smart evaluating and choosing a franchise, including looking at existing franchises in your area. We will also talk about how to plan the kind of exit you want down the road.

This in-person program will help you make sense of the franchising world and start you on a path to making good choices in your own small business adventure. There is no cost for the event but we do ask that you pre-register to ensure we hold a seat for you (and your partner too).

This is a live, in-person event so there will be no recording of the session available afterwards. Please be on time so you get all the valuable information provided!

One Session, Live, In-Person Session in Room A at the Cascades Public Library in Sterling
