Advancing the Mission of CBP
Join us on November 30th for the Loudoun GovCon Initiative’s next event “Advancing the Mission of U.S. Customs and Border Protection” featuring Keynote Speaker Sonny Bhagowalia, U.S. Customs & Border Protection’s Chief Information Officer. The agency is responsible for protecting the United States’ borders from terrorism, illegal immigration, and contraband. CBP’s Northern Virginia Office of Information Technology in Ashburn will be home to 3,700 engineers, technicians, scientists and support personnel once fully staffed. Mr. Bhagowalia is responsible for leading the agency’s transformation into a data-driven organization that uses technology to secure the nation’s borders.
Our Keynote will be followed by remarks by the Chief Technology Officer, Office of the Assistant Commissioner, Sunil Madhugiri. Mr. Madhugiri joined U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in 2019 as a Chief Architect. He was recently selected as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for CBP’s Office of Information and Technology (OIT).
We will also hear from the Vice President of National Security of ASRC Federal, Mike Horton. His operational portfolio includes critical mission support across the Department of Homeland Security, Department of State, and Department of Justice. Mike joined ASRC Federal from the Department of Homeland Security, where he served as its first Chief Data Officer.
In this program, we will be discussing, through our keynote presentations and panel discussion, the agency’s upcoming IT priorities, modernization, and providing a technological infrastructure to an agency located in every corner of the country.
