The Loudoun Chamber’s GovCon Initiative workshop series returns May 1st with an in depth discussion on how to ensure that your Teaming Agreements effectively serves as a vital on ramp and profit center for your company.
This workshop at Unanet in Sterling will examine the tools that every prime and sub must know when negotiating a teaming agreement and how to utilize those resources to protect against the potential exploitation of your capabilities to win a contract.
Amy Hernandez, CPA, JD and Dean Daisy, Attorney and CPA will lead a discussion on how to pursue guaranteed workshare, leverage that your company brings to the table, and the pitfalls of teaming agreement negotiation. Topics we’ll cover include: Exclusivity, Workshare and Intellectual property (IP)
Our Presenters
Amy Hernandez, BOOST, LLC: Amy is a CPA and holds a JD. She is a Senior Level Government contract accounting and compliance professional. She has comprehensive knowledge of FAR, DFARS, CAS and SBA rules and regulations as well as extensive experience reviewing, designing and implementing systems of internal controls. This experience makes her an expert in cost analyst with deep experience reviewing RFPs and pricing proposals.
Her thorough understanding of the Government contract life cycle and contract audits compliments her industry leading skills and allows her to offer clients real world, practical advice on how to best position themselves in a myriad of every day and extraordinary situations.
Dean Daisy, Daisy & Collins, LLP: In addition to serving as General Counsel to a number of clients, Dean Daisy, Partner of Daisy & Collins, LLP, manages the firm’s Government Contracts and Construction Law practices. Prior to co-founding Daisy & Collins, LLP, Dean Daisy served as General Counsel and Chief Financial Officer, leading and advising private companies sized to $55 million in revenue and 225 employees. He provided leadership and counsel to companies in government contracting, service, development, construction, distribution, manufacturing, healthcare and telecommunications industries, in start-up, growth and turn-around environments.
As both a CPA and an attorney, Mr. Daisy’s career includes drafting policy and procedures to ensure compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA)/Contractor Purchasing System Review (CPSR) audits. He has also written internal controls to ensure compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 (SOX) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and established and conducted internal audits for compliance.
