Health & Wellness: Mental Illness - Breaking the Stigma

The Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce’s Health and Wellness Committee will be hosting an informative panel discussion with experts in the Mental Health field. The purpose is to promote an informative discussion about psychological well-being and mental health, with the goal of breaking through some of the stigma and stereotypes associated with mental disorders.

Mental health is a polarizing topic in current news and social media. In the modern world we harbor preconceived notions about what mental illness is, and the faces of those suffering from a metal disorder. It is often this limited, or sometimes fallacious information which leads to deficient conclusions. At this event we will learn about who is at risk, when to seek help, what services are available, and more.  This discussion will be profoundly educational – rooted in fact, statistics, and reliant upon the considerable experience of local mental health professionals.  It promises to be an event that you won’t want to miss.
