Working Towards Solutions for Loudoun’s Housing Challenge

Driven by insufficient supply and policies limiting home construction, Loudoun’s housing affordability challenge is having an adverse impact on workforce availability and the quality of life in our community.

On May 23rd, the Loudoun Chamber will convene National, state, and regional housing experts to discuss the public and private sector solutions to build more attainable housing across Virginia and close to home.

Our first speaker will be Matthew Heckles, Regional Administrator, Mid-Atlantic, at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the agency responsible for addressing America’s housing needs.

Next, guests will hear from Brian Koziol, Executive Director of the Virginia Housing Alliance, a nonprofit that advocates for expanding housing opportunities and ending homelessness in Virginia.

In addition, we will hear from John Hall, Director of Loudoun’s Department of Housing and Community Development, the County agency focused on increasing the inventory of affordable living spaces for Loudoun’s workforce.

Rounding out the event will be a panel discussion featuring regional and local housing leaders from the private sector.

Panelists:

  • Taylor Chess, President, Development, Peterson Companies
  • Ben Miller, Co-Founder and Partner, Wellington Development, LLC
