Longtime Loudoun County Halloween scare creators are back at work this fall with a new event starting October 1 at Graydon Manor in Leesburg. The husband-and-wife team of Matt Smith and Jennifer Lassiter Smith have paired with Graydon’s owner David Gregory to develop a unique Halloween experience called Scare Loco, which they hope will become a new annual tradition for the area. Scream will take place outdoors behind the Graydon Manor house on a trail in the woods in a “post-apocalyptic world,” Matt Smith said. While Smith is reluctant to give away too many details, he would disclose that the theme is built around an underground bunker, and it is a maze out in the wooded area behind the mansion. Volunteers are already working at Graydon to build the experience by designing zombie-like figures and creating the set.
In addition to the scary experience, the event will also feature food trucks and Vanish Brewery will also be on site selling beer. There will be actors in costume, and tours will be available. VIP event to follow with Vanish Beer and snacks.
