Lansdowne, VA – The Loudoun Chamber’s 2018 Public Policy Positions was released this week. The document can be found here. As the Chamber enters its 50th year, advocating in the public policy arena continues to be a key focus for the Chamber.

Many of the issues in the Chamber’s Public Policy Positions also frequently appear in the news here in Loudoun County: rural economic development, non-profit organizations, teacher shortages, workforce development, affordable housing, road development, and, of course, the Metro system. The Chamber’s policy positions advocate for a healthy business climate and a strong community here in Loudoun, and will support the overall economic success of the County.

On Thursday, Loudoun Chamber President and CEO Tony Howard said, “The Chamber is seeking federal, state, and local laws that support a strong, pro-business environment that ensures economic competitiveness and protects the ability of businesses to create jobs and economic opportunity. Our team will continue to work with like-minded organizations and our elected officials to advocate for the issues and policies that serve the interests of Loudoun’s business community.”

Eric C. Johnson, the Chamber’s Government Relations Manager, recognized those who worked on the document during 2017. “We had a wonderful team made up of education experts, healthcare executives, transportation advocates, public servants, and many others who put in countless hours to review our positions document so that the Chamber was ready to lead the way in 2018.”

A copy has been provided to each of the newly elected members of the Virginia General Assembly, and all Loudoun County elected officials have been notified of the updates.
