Press Release: Loudoun’s Finest and Bravest: 112 Heroic First Responders and Civilians will be honored at 39th Annual Loudoun Valor Awards
Lansdowne, Virginia – The Loudoun Chamber will honor our community’s public safety heroes, and several outstanding citizens, for their courageous, often lifesaving actions in 2023, at the 39th Annual Loudoun Valor Awards, on April 18, 2024, at The National Conference Center.
Loudoun’s business and community leaders will gather for this proud Chamber tradition, to demonstrate their appreciation for our public servants and their selfless acts of heroism. This event will be MC’ed by WJLA ABC 7 news anchors Scott Thurman and Victoria Sanchez.
This year’s Valor Awards ceremony will feature two Bronze Medal of Valor presentations. One involving an off-duty Virginia State Trooper, Sgt. Christopher Ihara of Aldie, who rescued another State Trooper from her overturned cruiser after an accident on I-81 New Market.
The other Bronze Medal will be awarded to Loudoun County Firefighter Max Walsh who, while off duty, encountered a car fire in Leesburg. Without protective equipment, Walsh broke the driver’s side window the rescue the driver and assisted in the rescue of the passenger, who suffered serious injuries and likely would have died without his efforts.

For 39 years, the Loudoun Chamber has been honored to present the Valor Awards and to thank these real-life heroes for their commitment, sacrifice, and valor,” said Loudoun Chamber President Tony Howard.
