Thank you to Katie Schneider of TMMG for answering some of our questions, and congratulations for being a finalist for Main Street Business of the Year! View all of the finalists here.
Join us for the 27th Annual Loudoun Small Business Awards on Friday, October 29, 2021 at The National Conference Center. Ticket information here.
Tell us your story of how your business evolved into what it is today?
Steve started TMMG in 1999 as a full service marketing company. Part of every great strategy is promo, so 8 years ago he brought me on to build the promo arm of our company. And now TMMG Promo is actually our main focus!
What are you most proud of about your team?
I am very proud of how well we work together. We have the same focus, goals and are willing to communicate, listen and learn from each other and from others.
In what ways do you give back to the community?
We volunteer our time and services to many local nonprofits including LAWS, Stillbrave, Rotary, One Sparrow, Loudoun Impact Fund and more. We live by the “give where you live” philosophy.
What would it mean to you and your business to win a Small Business Award?
Recognition of any sort is so validating, especially in years where business is hard and morale can be down. We appreciate even being in the finals!
What is the smallest thing that has made the largest impact on your business?
Having great customer service. It seems like such a small thing to me, but great service is sometimes lacking in our world today. So this is a source of pride for me, how well we serve our clients.
Who is the one person that has influenced you the most in your career?
Steve, certainly.
What is your favorite thing about running a business in Loudoun County?
Meeting everyone, in all walks of life and all sorts of businesses!
What did you want to be when you grew up as a child?
Depending on the year, everything from a Broadway star to a fashion designer.
What is one book that changed your life and why?
The Hidden Power of F*cking Up by the Try Guys. There is knowledge in failure, and learning from your experiences is vital, good or bad.
If you’re not in the office where can we find you/what is another passion you have?
Steve would be on the golf course and I’ll be at DSW.
How do you see your business evolving in the next 5 years?
We are going to continue to serve Loudoun’s branded needs and hopefully evolve our production facility to include a full showroom!
