Thank you Natalie Femia of Lost Barrel Brewing for answering a few of our questions!

Natalie Femia Lost Barrel BrewingWhere were you born and raised and, if it was someplace else, when and why did you come to Loudoun?

I was born and raised in Great Falls, VA.

Tell us about your job and how long you’ve been in your profession.

I’m the Marketing and Events Manager at Lost Barrel Brewing, a role I’ve had since we opened in 2020! With a background in graphic and web design, as well as social media management, I’ve been able to combine my creative skills with my passion for bringing people together. From planning exciting events to curating our brand’s online presence, I love creating memorable experiences for our guests!

How did you get into this line of work?

I’ve always had a passion for design and fell in love with social media marketing and the incredible impact it can have on a business. I’m also a huge fan of party planning and themed events, so stepping into this role at Lost Barrel Brewing has been a perfect fit! It’s been so much fun incorporating creative themes into our events—everything from outfits and drinks to décor. I strive to create unique and exciting experiences for our customers, making every event at LBB one to remember!

Have you had any special mentors or inspirations that guided your career?

I find so much inspiration from businesses across the U.S. through social media. It’s amazing how connected you can become with other business owners just by following along and learning from what they share.

On a more personal level, my dad has been a huge mentor, guiding me through the business side of things at Lost Barrel, while my mom has played a big role in supporting my creative efforts. Their influence, along with the inspiration I draw from other businesses, has really shaped my approach to marketing and event planning.

Natalie Femia Lost Barrel BrewingWhat is the best part of your job and why?

The best part of my job is that every day is different. I get to have so much fun with our marketing and events! The creative freedom to dream up new themes and experiences brings me so much joy. I love collaborating with our team to bring unique events to life—from brainstorming ideas and creating mood boards to building excitement leading up to the big day. Seeing it all come together and watching people enjoy the experience we’ve crafted is truly the most rewarding feeling!

I also love the creative freedom of social media—being able to capture our social media pictures and videos, as well as getting our team involved in fun content, makes it even more exciting. It’s such a great way to engage with our community and showcase all the amazing things happening at Lost Barrel Brewing.

What does Women’s History Month mean to you?

Women’s History Month is a time to celebrate the incredible contributions and achievements that women have made throughout history and continue to make today. For me, it’s also a chance to recognize and support the amazing women in my own life, whether in my personal relationships or in the professional world, who inspire and empower me every day.
